A Workshop on the Effects of Public Policy on the Market for U.S. Farmland
Many rural communities are looking for ways to control growth and protect farmland. Participants discussed the impact of 4 policy features on farmland value: taxes, local growth management programs, the 96 Farm Bill and public infrastructure investment.
The Farm Foundation used the information generated by the workshop to develop educational materials on land use policy to assist policy leaders in the private sector and in government at the local and state levels.
